Lily Gonzalez is a Florence-Firestone native who is always looking for the next opportunity to give back to her community. She has big dreams of transforming her backyard into a community garden and creating a safe space for all to grow healthy organic food. By allowing the Water LA team to guide her and her family through the parkway basin process they are more motivated than ever to continue planting natives, cooling their community and recharging our groundwater!

Environmental Impact

With the implementation of 2 parkway basins, the Gonzalez family is helping mitigate local flood risks, improve water supply & quality, and support healthy soils & native habitat! As the 2 trees planted in their parkways grow, they will cool and clean the air, sequester carbon, and provide shade for the neighborhood.
