LADWP’s Ca$h in your lawn Rebate Program
The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power is offering $1.75 per square foot for residential customers to replace their water-thirsty grass with native and other California friendly plants, mulch to build healthy soil and retain moisture, and a rain capturing strategy like swales, rain tanks or infiltration trenches. They also offer rebates of between $50 to $500 (depending on volume) for each qualifying rain barrel or rain tank installed at your home.

Metropolitan water district's residential landscape transformation program
This MWD program rewards landscape designs that incorporate rain grading, water-saving plants, rain barrels and/or cisterns. Rebates start at $1 per square foot and may be more depending on additional local water agency incentives. A maximum of 1,500 square feet of turf removed per home is eligible for funding each fiscal year. Your project must have a minimum of 250 square feet of turf removed in the front yard; if the entire front yard is less than 250 square feet, all turf must be removed.
